All-Party Emergency Access to Trikafta Caucus

We have been taking part in the CF Community Roundtable with Cystic Fibrosis Canada and CF TreatmentSociety as well as the Emergency Access to Trikafta Federal Caucus meetings.

As part of the CF Community Roundtable we continue to carve out strategic initiatives to raise the issue of access to Trikafta federally. We look forward to continuing the work with CF Canada of encouraging and assisting the MPs that have formed the Emergency Access to Trikafta caucus and are excited to pick up where we left off.

We continue to remind and renew our Federal Minister of Health Patty Hajdu's commitment to advocate on our behalf and use her channels with the pCPA and the provincial Ministers of Health to encourage a prompt negotiation for the currently approved modulators AND Trikafta.

We are working with federal members of parliament to make sure the transition between the federal and provincial arenas goes smoothly and with the momentum we have built to date.

The provincial fights all have different obstacles and pressure points, and we are actively working within the CF Community Roundtable to establish what the best line of attack is. Some provinces will benefit from having a provincial all-party caucus dedicated to access to modulators, others already have a supportive government and working groups already established that are pushing the issue forward.

Our goal across Canada is to secure promise letters from each provincial Minister of Health committing to list Trikafta in the public formularies as soon as it has regulatory approval.

We have lots of work ahead and are confident that we will get to the finish line.

Let’s continue GETTING LOUD!
